Biancomatto 2025, Nino Barraco — Marsala, Sicily

Nino Barraco has spent two decades rewriting the story of wine in Marsala — farming organically, driving his beat-up Fiat through the coastal dunes to check on old vines most producers overlooked. The Biancomatto is Catarratto, direct-pressed and rested quietly in tank until spring: citrus, white flowers, Mediterranean herbs, a whisper of sea salt on the finish. Drinkers describe it as gin-and-tonic freshness meets sea breeze — bright, mineral, effortlessly easy-going. As Nino puts it, the sea in a glass.
